Intimidating, Leopard-printed and Unapologetic is a three-part book series that explores social expectations of women through personal experiences, cultural observation and visual language.
The books were published and are available in selected bookstores and cultural spaces in Israel.
The challenge was to translate personal and collective experiences of gender-based social expectations into a structured editorial system that can exist as both individual books and a unified series.
The work needed to operate simultaneously as personal narrative, cultural documentation and visual object.
System
-
Modular book series addressing different aspects of gendered social expectations
-
Typography, imagery and text function as primary narrative tools
-
Each volume operates independently within a cohesive system
-
Integration of personal writing, found text and cultural references
-
Print format and layering used as part of the conceptual language
Book structure
-
Intimidating → social behavior, communication and perceived “attitude”
-
Leopard-printed → body image, clothing and beauty expectations
-
Unapologetic → response and counter-position to these expectations
Impact
A conceptual editorial system that translates lived female experience and cultural critique into a structured printed form, where each book stands alone while contributing to a broader narrative.

Intimidating, Leopard-printed and Unapologetic is an editorial book series exploring social expectations of women.

Intimidating
Design approach
Hidden camera documentation was integrated into a structured editorial layout to create a sense of surveillance embedded within everyday street interactions.
Visual language
The book combines raw photographic material with controlled typographic composition, creating tension between spontaneity and structure.

Leopard-printed
Design approach
The decision to avoid direct body imagery shifts focus to language and cultural fragments as primary visual material.
Visual language
Text-heavy compositions replace figurative representation, creating density that reflects cultural pressure rather than physical presence.

Unapologetic
Design approach
The book structure was designed as a physical interaction - French fold binding creates an active reading experience that requires discovery rather than linear consumption.
Visual language
Inserted posters within folded pages extend the reading experience into spatial unfolding, turning the book into an object of layered engagement.
