Manofim is the largest and most influential annual art event in Jerusalem, bringing together thousands of participants across galleries, alternative art spaces and independent cultural institutions.
The festival was initiated in 2008 and plays a central role in the city’s independent art scene.
The 13th edition took place in October 2021, during a transitional period following the COVID-19 lockdowns, when public space and cultural participation were still in a process of redefinition.
The challenge was to create a visual identity for a large-scale cultural event taking place in a post-lockdown reality, where the relationship between public space, movement and collective experience was still shifting.
The system needed to reflect both structure and fragmentation - mirroring a moment where cultural life was reopening, but not yet fully stabilized.
System
-
Visual system built on the tension between structure and openness
-
Outdoor references integrated into structured graphic forms
-
Flexible identity for a multi-venue cultural event
-
Visual language reflecting a transition between restriction and reopening
Impact
A contextual visual system that reflects the cultural and spatial conditions of a post-lockdown city, translating a complex moment in time into a navigable and structured identity for a large-scale public event.
